If you have something you're written that you wish to have published in our online journal and accessible to the public, please consider submitting this work following the "Submissions Guidelines." We will not have a theme. Our focus is publishing DeKalb writers. If you're a DeKalb writer, if you meet the submissions guidelines, and if your work is rated G to PG-13, then please consider sending your work.
Submissions Guidelines
1.Entries should be nonfiction narratives or creative essays, short fiction, or poetry. 2.Entries should be no more than 2,000 words. 3.Submit your entry as a MS Word document (.docx file type) in Times New Roman or Arial font, size 12 point, double spaced. 4.Each entry must be accompanied by the writer’s name, email address, DeKalb County Zip Code, and title of work as a cover page or in the email message. 5.Page numbers are important. Make sure pages are numbered consecutively. 6.Only online submissions are accepted. No hard copies will be accepted. 7.Only one story or two poems maximum per person will be accepted. 8.Entries’ subject matter should meet a G, PG, or PG-13 rating standard.
The DeKalb Voices Review may decline any entry, such as entries with explicit or problematic subject matter.
9.Submissions must be original and unpublished. Any submission created using AI software will not be considered original and will be disqualified. 10.For questions email [email protected] 11.All submissions must be received by May 13, 2026. Publication will be May 20, 2026.

TERMS FOR SUBMISSION By submitting your work to The DeKalb Voices Review you agree... •to grant DeKalb County Public Library first right to publish your work in print or online •to grant DeKalb County Public Library non-exclusive rights to your work, including the right to include your work on the The DeKalb Voices Review website •to grant DeKalb County Public Library the right (but not the obligation) to store your work indefinitely •to grant DeKalb County Public Library first serial rights on any work we publish. This means that the story should not have appeared anywhere else, either in print or online
Terms and Conditions By submitting a literary work to us, you agree to our Terms and Conditions. Note particularly that by submitting a work to us, you guarantee that this is your original work. You will retain ownership of your work; but by submitting a literary work, you agree to grant DeKalb County Public Library rights to publish this work. Also, submitting your literary work does not guarantee that your entry will be included online.
